our DESIGN BUILD Remodeling Process

From initial ideas and design development through construction and project completion, DezDal Remodel guides Sedona homeowners through a coordinated design build remodeling process.

A Thoughtful Remodeling Process from Design Through Construction

Every remodeling project involves many decisions, details and moving parts. DezDal Remodel uses a transparent, step-by-step design build process to help Sedona homeowners understand what to expect from initial planning through project completion. Our team coordinates design, estimating, material selections, construction planning and project management while maintaining clear communication throughout the project.

To get started, we’ve laid out our step-by-step process for you to know what to expect and learn how our team at DezDal can bring your visions to life. We explain each stage of our remodeling process so you can better understand how your project moves from an initial conversation to a completed home.

Step 01: Let's Talk! Initial Remodeling Consultation
Our process kicks off by simply getting acquainted to see if we are a good fit for each other. We’ll do a deep dive into what your vision is to make sure we understand it completely. We’ll give you a range of cost estimates and then see where in that range your budget falls. Then, we’ll plan out and agree on a schedule, discuss what your role in the project will be as well as what you can expect from us from start to finish. We promise to be unfailingly honest – telling you what will be fun and what won’t. After we walk through all of this together, we will leave you with a complete guidance kit full of useful information to help you understand not only who we are but also how projects like yours work.
Prior to signing a Construction Agreement, we will work through pre-construction processes that will be handled with what is called a Professional Services Agreement (PSA). Your PSA will include costs for doing a detailed estimate that assures you a quality, completed project at a guaranteed price. It will also cover design services, demolition and discovery work if required. Note: The PSA does not obligate you to enter into a Construction Agreement with us if you choose to not move forward, but you will own the design work that was completed.
After all of the PSA work is complete, we will meet with you to talk through the final details of the project. Our priority is to make sure you feel the most comfortable and confident moving forward, so we will take all the time you need and answer any questions that you have at this time. We will review the scope of work, project plan, progress payments, timelines, logistics and concerns. You will get to meet your personal project manager and discuss how communications will be handled throughout the project.
After the first three steps, we will then have all the information to provide a guaranteed price for your project, including the designs and production plan. We will review and explain every aspect of the construction agreement and then you and your personal project manager will sign off on it. At this point, it’s official!
During the building phase we will handle all the details of ordering materials, scheduling, oversight, and coordination. Concurrently we will diligently keep you up to date on the progress of your project and any issues that may arise.
No matter how carefully we plan your project together you may find you would like to make some changes along the way — and that’s okay! We are prepared to cheerfully accommodate any changes you want to make. Our agreement will explain how the costs associated with your changes will be handled.
You’re on the home stretch! During this completion phase, we will meticulously inspect everything to ensure the highest craftsmanship level has been maintained throughout the project. We will have a final review meeting with you to answer any questions regarding appliances or any other operational questions and go over our industry leading warranty. Our team will do one last clean up to the highest standards possible both within the project and anything on the property that we touched. Lastly, we’ll send you with a document to list anything you might run across that wasn’t done right.
With your home transformation complete, we’d like to thank you for trusting us to help bring your vision to life!
